![]() After EAT-ing, I skipped PRAY-ing and was all ready to LOVE the sights Udaipur offers. Lake Palace has their own gondolas for their guests. Most of the hotels have a rooftop restaurant there and it’s a treat for eyes to see the beautiful Lake Palace (Yeah, where the epic Bond movie – Octopussy was shot – it’s a beauty to behold) amid the calm waters of Lake Pichaula with hills around while enjoying your breakfast. And more than the hotel, I just loved their bathrooms – spotlessly cleaned and completely spic and span.įueled up with excitement, I did not waste any time to get ready and get going for the breakfast. It was the mansion of the finance minister of the king’s era. Since, it was my first trip, I kind of spoiled myself and booked in for a heritage property. If you suddenly have illusions of Deepika Padukone here, no – you’re not her best fan! It’s because a song sequence of Ram-leela was shot here and City Palace. ![]() I stayed near the Gangaur Ghat, that’s the place which receives most of the tourist crowd, has maximum hotels and has been shot in movies. So, there I boarded the auto and off I went. But suddenly you realize how badly you need to freshen up (I avoid the public amenities in these matters). Udaipur, also popularly known as “City of Lakes” or “Venice of East”, is also one of the most tourist-friendly destinations, so as soon as I reached the station I was greeted by swarm of smiling tourists and natives alike. The warm smiles does make you forget your trip lethargy for a while. Udaipur will always be special for me as it was my first debut here as a solo traveller. As soon as I boarded the train, the fears faded and coming up was an unforgettable journey. The decision to narrow down on Udaipur was in utter desperation to get out on the road and was not planned at all. In my previous post, I did share about my trip to Udaipur. ![]()
